Dr. Michael Rimlawi is a board certified fellowship trained spine surgeon. He treats all aspects of spinal disease including degenerative and traumatic conditions of the cervial, thoracic and lumbar spine. He is the Director and Co-Founder of the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute and a pioneer in endoscopic laser spine surgery. Dr. Rimlawi uses state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures to determine the least invasive surgery possible which minimizes postoperative pain and reduces recovery time. He was the first surgeon in America to perform the Blobus Minimally Invasive XLIF procedure and a Minimally Invasive Lumbar fusion using the STORKS endoscopic camera system.
Dr. Rimlawi was awarded the Patient’s Choice Award from 2008-2010. He was also named one of the “Top Orthopedic Surgeons” in Dallas by America Top 10. As a member of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeons, Dr. Rimlawi trains other spine surgeons around the world the newest minimally invasive techniques. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society, and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.
Dr. Rimlawi began his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his BA in Pre-Med Biochemistry. He completed his fellowship and training in both orhtopedic-spine and neurosurgery-spine at the University of California San Diego.
